Boyne City Commission

Overview
The Boyne City Commission is the overall governing body for the City of Boyne City.  The five members of the City Commission are elected by the residents of the City, and represent the voters in major issues.  One of the members of the Commission is elected Mayor by his or her fellow Commissioners to facilitate the meetings, and one is elected Mayor Pro-Tem to act in the absence of the Mayor.

As with any governmental group, meetings of the City Commission are public, and recordings of the meetings are made available on the city website.  While the City Commission may go into closed session for one of several very specific reasons, it is planned for in advance, with the reason stated publicly.

Regular meetings of the City Commission are held twice each month unless a special meeting is called.  In the event of a special meeting, the public must be given due notice prior to the meeting.
