The Villager

With the weather Northern Michigan has been having its no wonder that dinner plans are ruined. We were on our way to Bellaire to eat. We had been in Petoskey and were almost in Charlevoix when we decided against driving all the way to Bellaire. So we stopped at The Villager in downtown Charlevoix. It was Friday and that meant all you can eat whitefish. Of course that is what I ordered. Hubby opted for the half-pound steak burger. For an appetizer we had to order the Mac and Cheese nuggets. The nuggets are deep fried wedges of macaroni and cheese. They are wonderful. I love them and I always either order them or the sweet potato chips. Both go very well with ranch dressing. They are always delicious. Next came our main courses. The fish came with coleslaw, fries, and tartar sauce. I love their fried fish and I almost never venture further in the menu. The all you can eat begins with four pieces of whitefish. If you finish that you just order more. Be aware, they do not offer this special during the summer. If you have any doubt about when they have the special, just give them a call before heading out. With a name like the half-pound steak burger my husband’s meal was quite large. It was ground up steak and it came with lettuce and tomato along with a pickle spear and French fries. We gorged ourselves. The food at The Villager is fantastic and this visit was no different. The service, as usual, was attentive, helpful and quick. I have never left that restaurant dissatisfied. I would recommend The Villager to anyone. I know I visit there enough to know how much I appreciate it.
