China One

As you know my husband and I have been visiting Boyne restaurants and reviewing them. However, this week we ventured to Charlevoix. In the Glen’s plaza there is a small Chinese restaurant. It is well known for its buffet but we arrived too late for that. Hubby, a friend, and myself seated ourselves. The service was very prompt. We had only sat down when the waiter came to take our drink orders. After our sodas came we knew what we wanted. I ordered the set and sour shrimp, hubby ordered the Happy Family, and our friend had the sweet and sour chicken. Again the service was amazingly quick.

The sweet and sour meals came with fried rice and an egg roll. All the meals were large portions. My husband of course finished his meal and enjoyed every minute of it. It was flavorful and was exactly what he had been craving. Our friend and I could not finish all of our meals. He was able to eat all his chicken but could not stuff in all the rice and he didn’t even get to the egg roll. Myself, I didn’t finish all of any part of my meal. I took a little bit of all of it home. I thoroughly enjoyed the rice and the egg roll, but I felt that the fried shrimp and the fried chicken were slightly undercooked. However, it tasted great the next day when I warmed it up in the microwave.  All in all, it’s not a bad place to eat. My husband’s dinner was by far the best of the three, so if you go I suggest either trying the buffet or staying away from the fried food.

China One not only is a sit down restaurant; you can also have take out. As I mentioned before it is in the Glen’s plaza in Charlevoix.
