James Kondrat, 50

James Kondrat, 50

James Thomas Kondrat, better known as JIm or Jim-Bob, born July 8, 1959 left this world unexpectedly on May 17, 2010.  He leaves behind loved ones and friends that will feel his absence for a long time to come.

Jim had many interests – the outdoors, fishing, collecting antiques, spending time at the cabin and being in his garage among his collectibles.  His true passion was sharing what he loved most – his expansive fishing lure collection.
He was a wonderful husband, son, step dad, friend and an extremely proud grandpa.  He spent his last and greatest twenty years of his life with the one true love of his life and best friend, Jacie.  He also loved working alongside his beloved parents while creating their own fishing decoy collection as well as just being with them.  Jim was so many things to so many people, but all would agree that he was generous, dependable and very kind hearted.  Perhaps his most natural role in life was being a grandpa.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jacie (DePeel), his parents Tom and Janet (Carson) Kondrat of Boyne Falls; his step son Bill (Deb) Brown and their children William and Evelyn; step son Jim (Bethany) Brown and daughter Mackenzie Rose; grandson Austin Kauranen; step son-in-law Fred Slotman and his son Zack; mother-in-law Gertrude “Nana” DePeel of Mancelona, brother Hank and sister Jane Doty and her children Jason and Meagan, and his sister Tammy (Doug) Risen; and brother-in-laws – Benny DePeel, Billy(Mary)DePeel, Don (Terri) DePeel; sister-in-laws Diane (Ron) Conway, Jeannie (Bob) Wilcox, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his sister-in-law Deb DePeel (Benny); and his much loved step daughter Tina Brown Slotman on April 3, 2010.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City.
