See You at the Pole

BCHS Students gather unafraid, praying for their school and witnessing their faith
On Sept. 23, teens across the United States gathered for yet another See You at the Pole event. Started as a way to encourage students to pray, this event has picked up steam and made a push throughout schools in America. At 7:45 am, over twenty students joined together around the flag pole at Boyne City High School, joined by several staff members and members of the community. Here, students took turns leading each other in prayer for Boyne City Schools, the country, the sick, the poor, and each others individual needs. These students, while sharing a belief in God and being Christian, came from a variety of churches in the area. Despite being Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Evangelical, or other denominations, students stated that they were happy to have a chance to pray together, and expressed interest in a school bible study. Nationally organized and student-led, these types of events happen throughout the year as a way to encourage teens to be open about their faith, and share with others.
