Drag Races Coming to Boyne

The Memorial Day Drag Race event is coming on May 30th, from noon to 6 p.m.
The action will take place at the Boyne City Airport.
“I thought about it one day while I was looking at the air strip. We put it together and fortunately it worked out,” said Randy Howard, Boyne City’s Police Chief. “This event started back in the fall of 2003 on labor day weekend.”
Racers will be competing down a side by side 1/8 mile runway, at least 660 feet, and will be recorded on advanced systems present.
Randy Howard also stated, “We have high 80’s low 90’s attending, last fall we had 110 racers present.”
