Multiple counts of child porn

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Cadillac Post was contacted in September 2019 by the parents of a minor female reporting an inappropriate online relationship their daughter was having with a man. The incidents occurred between July 2019 and September 2019. The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Cameron Joseph Schopieray of Buckley.
Schopieray and the victim had allegedly exchanged inappropriate photographs via Snapchat and corresponded using Facebook Messenger. During the investigation, several other female victims in the area were identified and came forward.
The MSP Cadillac Post is asking anyone to come forward who may have been a victim of Schopieray. You may contact the post at 231-779-6040.
Schopieray was arrested and charged with three counts Child Sexually Abusive Activity, a felony punishable by 20 years and/or $100,000.00, this is a Tier II offense under the Sex Offender Registration Act (SORA); three counts Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes, a felony punishable by four years and/or $4,000.00, this is also a SORA Tier II offense; and three counts Furnishings Obscenity to Children, a misdemeanor punishable by 90 days and/or $500.00. Schopieray was arraigned today in the 84th District Court in Cadillac. He was released on a PR bond with a GPS monitor and no contact order with victims. His next court date is a probable cause conference on January 21, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
