North Central Michigan College Student Veterans Association will host a special open house and assistance fair on April 10.
The event is 4–7 p.m., in the Student Community Resource Center to celebrate the newly refurbished Veterans Lounge, located off of the gymnasium.
The Open House will include a Veterans Assistance Fair to offer local organizations the opportunity to set up exhibits and information tables.
There will also be a play area for children and light refreshments for all attendees.
This newly designed Veterans Lounge is open to veterans, service members, spouses and dependents and gives military-connected students a place they can call their own to relax, study, unwind and mingle with others that have similar experiences and backgrounds.
Specific amenities include a television, couches, microwave, coffee maker and a technology room with free printing for all.
Additionally, there is a Common Access Card (CAC) station for use by active service members.
This new space provides an opportunity and a location for the Student Veteran Association meetings on campus, as well as a place for veteran service providers in our community to connect with veterans and their family members.
Please join us in celebrating the service and sacrifice of this very valued population in our community.
