Man hit by snowplow truck

On December 4, 2019 at approximately 6:05 p.m. troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Houghton Lake Post investigated a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic crash on M-55 near Byron Avenue in Houghton Lake.
A 44-year-old Roscommon man was walking east bound in the west bound right lane of M-55 when he was struck by a pick-up truck with a plow attached that was traveling west bound on M-55 in far-right lane. The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing which made it hard for on-coming traffic to see him in the roadway. The plow truck driver swerved in an attempt to miss the pedestrian, but the right portion of his plow struck the pedestrian causing significant injuries to the Roscommon man. It is believed there were no alcohol or drugs involved.
The pedestrian was transported by Roscommon Ambulance Service to Grayling Munson Hospital.
