Boyne City Manager Michael Cain shared an update, on Monday Dec. 16, of the pavilion project in Boyne City’s Veterans Park.

Included here is a photo showing the recent erection of new columns on the North Lake Street side of Boyne City’s Veterans Park Pavilion.

The columns will support two new peaked roof covered picnic areas.

The trusses for those new roofs are scheduled be going up before the end of the week.

The entire project, which also includes glass door enclosures and heat for the main floor area to allow for comfortable year-round use, a commercial kitchen and a new fifth restroom, is scheduled be completed before the 2020 Mushroom Festival.

The project is being funded with local contributions and grants including up to  $408,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

Also included is a graphic which shows roughly what the completed project should look like.

Cain said the graphic is not exactly like what the finished product will look like, such as the main building has yellow shake style siding on it and is not all brick as shown in the image.
