Charlevoix Humane Society needs foster families for dogs, cats, kittens

The Charlevoix Area Humane Society is looking for foster families for several of their current dogs, cats and kittens at the shelter.

It is “kitten season” and they currently have 29 kittens/Moms who are now or will soon be ready for a foster family.

They also have 3 cats who have not been adopted for over a year, and could use a 2-3 month break from the shelter to re-connect with people one on one or in a family.

They also have 3 very shy and non-aggressive dogs who’ve been in the shelter since December.

These dogs need kind, patient families to teach them how wonderful people are!

Molly is a 4-year-old medium-size boxer/retriever mix who is a real sweetie.

Wynn is a large dog who may have some St. Bernard in him, but is smaller in size.  He is 1 1/2 years old and is truly beautiful.

The third dog is Raylan, who for the past month has been in foster care. Raylan is a 5 1/2 year old basset hound mix. He goes on car rides, is toilet trained and comes when he’s called most of the time.  Raylan is a really smart little guy who is still working on being comfortable around people he doesn’t know. And while Raylan doesn’t need a foster home, he does need a forever home and is available to be adopted.

if you would like to meet the dogs, cats and kittens, go to the Charlevoix Area Humane Society at 614 Beardsley St. in Boyne City.

Or, call them at (231) 582-6774 or go to charlevoixhumane.org.

The shelter is open to the public from noon to 6 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays.
