The Charlevoix Circle of Arts will be hosting a Paint Out and Dance Party this weekend.
The event begins on Saturday June 9, at 8 a.m., when artists register at 109 Clinton St. to have their blank canvases stamped for a day of painting.
Artist from across the region will be painting scenes around town and capturing the beauty of northern Michigan.
Throughout the afternoon, they will return with fresh work and a “pop-up” installation of their art will be on display as soon as they arrive back on site.
When artists return to the Circle a “Wet-Paint Sale” will be installed and paintings will be immediately for sale. The wet-paint sale is always a fun experience where artists share stories of unexpected events and challenges that they have faced during the day. Patrons are able to purchase works for sale and take home with them a wonderful memory of Charlevoix.
Beginning at 5 pm, musician Chris Martin will return for the third year to entertain the crowd. The event lasts until 7 p.m.
The paint out is now referred by many as the region’s only “Paint-Out Dance Party.”
This has become a tradition at the Circle where painters and patrons alike gather to talk about painting, techniques, stories and dance.
Patrons and artists alike are encouraged to save the date, make plans to join us at 109 Clinton Street in the heart of downtown Charlevoix.
