Born May 20, 1927 in Elyria, Ohio, she was predeceased by her parents, Charles L, and Alice A. (Whitker) McFillen and sister, Mae Elizabeth (McFillen) Drickamer.
She graduated from Scott High School in Toledo, Ohio before attending the University of Toledo, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Education degree in 1949.
She was a member of the Alpha Chi Sorority, as well as Kappa Delta Pi Honors Society.
She did post graduate hours at the University of Michigan.
She taught both Junior and High School Math and Science in Allen Park, Michigan until 1970.
Moving to Boyne City, she taught at East Jordan High School until she retired in 1985.
She then moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she spent most of her retirement.
She is survived by her four children, Laura (Vince) Davis, Scot (Cindie) Brown, Mark (Ellen) Brown and Terry (Kenn) Fillion, 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
