Chocolate-Covered Boyne has come and gone for another sweet year.
With 53 businesses and restaurants participating this year—a record—our chocolate-seekers had a jolly time enjoying the many bargains to be had, while munching on a variety of chocolate treats.
Our restaurants outdid themselves in serving up delectable and unusual dishes. Our profuse thanks to all who participated, in this, our ninth such festivity.
A special note of thanks goes to Michelle at Fustini’s, who volunteered to host the very first Chef’s Challenge Dessert Competition. It was well-attended, with everyone relishing the generous samples of the competition entrees.
The entrees were indeed an epicurean delight to behold and to taste.
The Boyne City High School Culinary Arts program, under the supervision of Dennis Crissman, are to be commended for providing the planning for, and assistance in, presenting this brand new and very successful event.
Instrumental in collecting and assembling data, keeping communication flowing, and, in general, taking care of all those details that are so important to the success of an event, one cannot say enough about Jim Baumann, and Kim, Pam, and Missy, at the Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Promotions Committee of the Main Street Program was the foundation underlying this whole weekend of activities.
They know who they are, and they deserve all the accolades the community can place on them, for this, and a lot of other, community events.
