Volunteers will work on fascia, soffit, siding, and interior work throughout the summer. Volunteers must be over the age of 16 to help with most of this project. Volunteers under the age of 16, please call Habitat directly to see how you can help with this project. Days and times are as follows:
- Monday’s, 10 am – 4 pm, excluding the 4th of July

- Saturday, July 9th, 9 am – 3 am
Volunteers can see specific opportunities online and register for a shift at www.northwestmihabitat.org/volunteer.
By swinging a hammer, providing a meal, or lending a helping hand and positive voice on the jobsite, you can help make the dream of home ownership come true for local families.

Volunteer Manager, Mandy Martin, states, “We have been working exceedingly hard on our mission of providing safe, decent and affordable homes for families and individuals in Charlevoix and Emmet Counties! We just completed our 36th Habitat Home for a deserving family of 6 and are now working on our 37th and 38th. We are also planning on breaking ground on 2 more homes later this summer. Our ReStore, which helps fund our mission, has recently reached 3 million in sales since opening!”

About Northwest Michigan Habitat for Humanity
Since 1990, NW Michigan Habitat for Humanity has served Charlevoix and Emmet counties as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization who designs and builds safe, affordable housing for qualified lower income families. We give families a hand-up, not a hand out. In addition, we provide lower income existing homeowners with assistance in repairing their home through various programs. NW Michigan Habitat is an affiliate in good standing with Habitat for Humanity International. The affiliate has built 36 homes, served over 40 families with new homes and repairs, and is in a growth mode. In 2007 the affiliate opened and has continuously operated a large thrift shop for recycling of household goods, building materials, housewares and more.
