The area features the finest fall “leaf peeking” locations, color tour routes along with a bounty of orchards, pumpkin patches and corn mazes to complete your fall experience.
The City of East Jordan Parks and Recreation Department hosts Fall Fest on Saturday Sept. 24. The 8th Annual Breezeway Fall Color Cruises will be held on three Saturdays, Sept. 24, Oct. 1 and 8.
Color tour participants pick up “goodie bags” filled with trip tips, color tour maps, coupons and other surprises at Royal Farms Winery in Atwood between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on those days.
Participants then proceed at their own pace along C-48 The Breezeway shopping, dining or enjoying a nature hike at one of the three preserves along the route.
End the experience at Boyne Mt. in Boyne Falls with a complimentary chair-lift ride.
The Leaf Peeker Craft Show is Saturday Sept. 24 in East Jordan.
The show features vendors offering arts, crafts, gifts and food from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Civic Center and outside on Main Street.
Family friendly events run from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and offers games, pie bake contest, a Halloween Costume Swap/Sale, pumpkin bowling, a bake sale and more.
Fall Fest events taking place at the East Jordan Tourist Park from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. include a beer tent complete with yard games, music, food trucks, a hay art contest, and adult softball tournament.
The entire Breezeway area is dotted with scarecrows and harvest displays.
Several other events will be taking place along the Breezeway on Saturday Sept. 24 including the EJ Rotary Club’s Annual Fall Airplane Rides from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. leaving from EJ City Airport.
Rides are $25 per person, on a first come/first serve basis.
Friends of the Jordan will be hosting the 12th Annual Celebration for the “Visions of the Valley” Photo Contest. Be the first to see the 2017 calendar, view all of the photo entries and enjoy food and beverages.
The event will be held at the Jordan River Watershed Building, 101 Union St. Adults and Children are invited to the Jordan River Arts Council “Chalk on the Walk” to draw on the sidewalk.
There will also be artists working on sidewalk art.
This drawing activity is part of the international: “Big Draw” event.
The Jordan River Arts Council will also be open to the public for the “Rare Threads” Exhibit.
The JRAC events will take place from 1–4 PM. The Jordan River Arts Council is located at 301 Main St., East Jordan.
