Crooked Tree Arts Center’s Petoskey Summer Paint Out

On Saturday, June 4, artists and art patrons alike have the opportunity to enjoy CTAC-Petoskey’s Annual Paint Out, a favorite summer event that has been going on for over a decade.

Artists of all skill levels, ages 18 and up, are encouraged to participate in this plein air event. All artists will start their day by checking in at CTAC between8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., and painting outdoors anywhere, as long as they return to CTAC by 4:00 p.m. with their “wet” painting.

The Wet Paint Sale and Reception will begin at 5:00 p.m. with prizes awarded for First, Second, and Third Place, in the amounts of $500, $250, and $100, respectively. Kevin Barton, one of CTAC’s featured summer artists, will serve as Paint Out juror.

The Wet Paint Sale is a great opportunity for art lovers and patrons to support local artists and purchase a brand new, original work of art. These much sought after “wet” paintings fly off the easels, so arriving early is suggested.

Also on June 4, artists, patrons, and community members will have an opportunity to meet CTAC’s new Galleries Director, Sheila Ruen, who will be on hand throughout the day.
