• Sheriff W.D. (Don) Schneider reports on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at approximately 5:30pm the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office, Resort Bear Creek Township Fire Department and Bear Creek Township EMS responded along with Boyne City EMS to a one vehicle rollover personal injury accident.

Arkadiusz Jacek Bregula, a 20 year old North Central college student, residing in Boyne City, was northbound on Horton Bay Rd. when he appeared to have lost control of his vehicle exiting the road to the left and flipped into the trees. He was driving a 2011 Chevy Aveo. The jaws of life were used to free him from the vehicle. Bregula was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey where he was treated for his injuries. This incident is still under investigation.

• Sheriff W.D. (Don) Schneider reports on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at approximately 4:00pm the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office, the Boyne City Police Department, and the Michigan State Police responded to a two vehicle personal injury accident which occurred on Highway U.S. 131 near M-75 in Boyne Valley Township.
Olivia Grace Tackett, a 17 year old student from Wolverine, failed to yield to a vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. 131 while turning from M-75.
Tackett had to be extradited from the vehicle and was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
Oliva was driving a 2000 Lincoln passenger car.
Robert Everett Tweedle Jr., a 71 year old Gaylord resident, driving 2012 Chrysler passenger car, was southbound on U.S. 131 and attempted to stop but was unable to avoid a collision.
Both Mr. Tweedle and his passenger, Vickie Buckland, also of Gaylord were both transported to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital and treated for their injuries.
Boyne City EMS and Boyne Valley EMS responded along with the Boyne Valley Fire Department. This incident is still under investigation.

• On Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 1:32 a.m. the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle personal injury traffic accident which occurred on M-75 North, Southwest of South Shore Drive in Melrose Township.
58 year old Matthew Wade Webster of Dearborn was traveling Northeast on M-75 North when he lost control of the Chevrolet Trailblazer he was driving.
The vehicle left the roadway to the right, rolled over, and struck a tree.
Webster was ejected from the vehicle and was found pinned under the vehicle and a downed tree.
Melrose Township Fire, Deputies from the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office, and Officers from the Boyne City Police Department were able to free Webster using chainsaws and pushing the vehicle off him.
Webster sustained serious injuries to his legs and was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital by the Boyne City Ambulance, where he underwent surgery.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
The Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Boyne City Police Department, Michigan State Police, Melrose Township Fire Department, and Boyne City Ambulance.
