From 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday Oct. 7, the Boyne City Police Department is participating in the National Day of “Coffee with a Cop.”

Boyne City Police Chief Jeff Gaither will be at Local Flavor, located at 125 Water St., along with other Boyne City Police Officers, to meet and talk with residents, business owners and anyone else who would like to address concerns or ask questions.

“I see this as a valuable way to connect with people and discuss the police department’s responsibilities, as well as get input from our community on how we can serve them better,” said Gaither. “Some people are hesitant to come into the police department to discuss things, and this will give them an informal, public place to make those contacts.”

Everyone is invited to drop by for a short time or stay and visit for the duration.

Local Flavor owner Chris Bandy thinks this is a great way for the Boyne City Police Department to make positive contacts with the public and he enthusiastically offered the use of his store for the event.
