18 of 19 ballot props OKd across Charlevoix County

There were nearly 20 millage proposals across Charlevoix County on the Tuesday Aug. 2 ballot.

Only one of the 19 ballot proposals put up to Charlevoix County voters actually lost.

Following are the results of each proposal:

• The Charlevoix County Transit Proposition was approved by a vote of 3,216 to 1,250, winning by 72.01 percent of the vote.

• The Charlevoix County Tax Lim Proposition won by a vote of 2,636 to 1,598, or 62.26 percent of the vote.

• The Charlevoix County Senior Millage renewal was approved with 77.02 percent of the vote, or 3,443-1,027.

• The Charlevoix County Recycling Millage was renewed with a vote of 3,529 to 951 with a percentage of 78.77 percent.

• The First Jordan Valley EMS Proposal won by 73.77 percent of the vote with a tally of 478 to 170.

• The Second Jordan Valley EMS Proposal on the ballot was approved by 64.95 percent or a total of 417 to 225.

• Boyne Valley’s T Proposition was approved by voters 109 to 16, or 87.20 percent of the vote.

• Chandler Township’s Proposition won 48 to 6, or with 88.89 percent.

• The Charlevoix Township Proposal was Okd by voters 199 to 60, or 76.83 percent of the vote.

• The Evangeline Township Fire Proposal (1) was approved 87 to 28, or 75.65 percent of the vote.

• The Evangeline Township Fire Proposal (2) was approved 70 to 45, or 60.87 percent of the vote.

• Hayes Township Road Proposal was passed by a vote of 353 to 124, or 74 percent of the vote.

• Marion Township Road Proposition was approved by 172 to 35, or 83.09 percent.

• Melrose Township’s Road Proposition was also passed with a vote of 126 to 46, or 73.26 percent.

• The St. James Township EMS Proposition was approved with 85.52 percent of the vote; 124 to 21.

• The St. James History Proposition was approved by a vote of 110 to 35, or 75.86 percent of the vote.

• The East Jordan Public Schools Sinking Proposition was narrowly approved by a vote of 551 to 499, or 52.48 percent of the vote.

• The East Jordan Public Schools Bond Proposition also barely passed with a vote of 528 to 524, or 50.19 percent of the vote.

• The Vanderbilt Schools Proposition lost by a vote of 24 to 15, or 61.54 percent of the vote.
