1st Baptist Thanksgiving
The Boyne City First Baptist Church will celebrate with a Wednesday before Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. on Nov. 25 at the church with Pastor Tony Duty.

Nov. 26
Boyne Thanksgiving Dinner
Boyne City Eagles host a Community Thanksgiving Dinner from noon to 2:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26 at the Eagles Hall, 106 River St. The dinner is open to the public, and there is no charge. Anyone who needs a ride or would like to volunteer or donate food call 582-6904.

Charlevoix Thanksgiving Dinner
The 9th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thanksgiving Day from noon to 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 1003 Bridge Street, Charlevoix, Michigan. The meal is provided at no charge. All are welcome!

ST. JOSEPH Thanksgiving
Community Thanksgiving Dinner – November 26th in the St. Joseph’s Social Hall, 205 Nicholls St. Social Hours begins at 1:00 PM and Dinner will be served at 2:00 PM. Don’t be alone on Thanksgiving. Join us for dinner, fun and fellowship. Games will be available for children and adults.

Charlevoix Turkey Trot
Registration has begun for the 5th Annual Charlevoix Area Hospital Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 26. The annual 5K run/walk starts and ends at the hospital parking lot (at 14700 Lake Shore Drive in Charlevoix). A route map is posted on their website at cah.org, where convenient online pre-registration is available.

Holiday Open House
Open house for shopping, santa parade and much more in this Boyne City community Christmas kickoff from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Boyne City. The Santa parade is at 6 p.m. More details on page 9

Wellness Wednesday
Charlevoix Area Hospital will be hosting the Wellness Wednesday Program from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, in Classroom B of the hospital’s lower level. The Wellness Wednesday Health Screen includes: Total Cholesterol, HDL, ratio, and Glucose levels, Body Mass Index (BMI) score, Muscle and Fat Percentages, and a Blood Pressure reading. No fasting is required. However, if individuals are fasting, LDL and triglyceride levels can also be obtained. Cost for the service is $15. Hemoglobin A1C Levels are offered for known or borderline diabetics for an additional $5. All participants will receive a blood pressure log, pedometer and all test results at the time of the screening. Health consultation and educational materials will be adapted to individual results. Community Christmas program
The Boyne Area Community Christmas program will be up and running at the Boyne City Education Center on Pine Street from Nov. 17 through Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The organization has been putting together baskets of food, clothing and toys for the past 60 years. Organizer Ruth Witenski said she hopes to provide Christmas presents for 1,000 people, including 650 children, again this year. New clothes and toys are preferred, but gently used items are accepted for ages newborn to 18. Toys for boys 7 to 17 are especially needed. Non-perishable, unwrapped food, new toys and games, books, clothing, blankets and checks may be dropped off at the Boyne City Education Center. Checks may be made payable to Boyne Area Community Christmas, c/o Treasurer Eleanor West, 915 Robinson St. #15, Boyne City 49712. • VOLUNTEERS will be needed for basket packing on Dec. 21-22.
• A FUND-RAISER has been scheduled at Cafe Sante Friday Nov. 27, with Under the Moon entertaining. The restaurant will donate 10% of food sales from 3 to 11 p.m., and additional monetary donations will also be accepted.
• DROP-OFF SITE – Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors at 231 Water St. has been designated as an additional drop-off site for the Community Christmas drive. Items may be dropped off through Dec. 16.
