June has been teaching watercolor techniques for at least 16 years to students that have been returning becoming friends, working and exhibiting together.
A wide variety of techniques and subjects will be seen in the current exhibit; of which several will be for sale.
June has been producing watercolors for the past 20 years and studied with such artists as Helga Flower, Cheng—Kie Chang, Pierre Bittar, Charles Murphy, Catherine Carey, Steve Rogersand Joe Green to name a few.
She also serves on Art boards, curates exhibits, and has contributed works to Hospice, Dart for Art, and Charlevoix Hospital.
Her art works can be found in many collections in Michigan, Arizona, Colorado, Texas and California as well as many private collections. Since 2007 her winter scenes have been used by Hospice for their Christmas cards, and the original paintings donated for their fundraisers.
June states, “To give back to my community gives me great pleasure.”
Exhibiting with June will be Carolyn Irving, Nancy Epstein, Jackie Wollenberg, Su Bishop, Jackie Pinney, Nanette Derkat, Adrenna Jeffery, Chris Brown, Judy Feldkamp, Bedonna Perrish, Gaele Gerrie-Boss, Rita Hess, Elaine Dettman, Helen Truchan, Joyce Newville, Diane Strelenski, Lea Shea, Ardenne “Sam” Jeffery, and Elaine Case. She currently teaches classes at the Boyne Arts Collective, does mini art classes in the areas and volunteers art classes at Boyne Falls School.
This delightful exhibit, not to be missed, will run only a short time—November 1 through November 13.
Art patrons can meet the artists during the opening reception, November 1. Refreshments will be served by the JRAC Board.
The Jordan River Art Center, 301 Main St. is open Tuesday through Sunday from 1—4 pm during the exhibit.
