Dr. Dennis Hudson Cadreau
Jan. 22, 1953 — Aug. 26, 2015
Dennis was visiting his family in Laguna Beach for a long weekend from E. Jordan, Michigan. A body surfing accident at Divers Cove left him paralyzed and after a sixteen day battle he died from complications of his injuries.
He was 62 years old. His father Dr. John Cadreau and sister Denise Cadreau predeceased him. Dennis was a beloved son, brother and uncle.
He earned his Bachelor’s and DVM degrees at MSU and remained a loyal Spartan. Dennis owned and operated House Calls Veterinary Services. He was an animal lover and caring veterinarian. Dennis was an accomplished award winning sailor who raced his own boat and crewed on others. He also raced in the Chicago/Mackinac Race multiple times. Dennis was in a competitive ski league at Boyne Mountain and helped disabled skiers at Challenge Mountain enjoy Michigan winters. He participated in a mini triathlon, golfed a good game, mountain biked, chopped his own wood and snowboarded way too fast. Dennis is survived by his mother Jane Cadreau, sister Liza Barrett, brother-in-law Brad Barrett, nephews Bret and John Barrett. He will be greatly missed by his family, awesome friends and dogs and cats everywhere.
