Charlevoix County talks turkey: What do you like best about Thanksgiving?
The Boyne City Gazette reporters strolled around Charlevoix County in the days leading up to Thanksgiving to see what some local folks like best or remember most about turkey day. Here is a gallery of their responses.
Robin Hissong-Berry — Over 50 family members gathering for the day from four generations.
Mary Jarema — Family, cooking, and friends just getting together. No gifts, just getting together reliving the last Thanksgiving.
Lynda Adams — The Tradition of my extended family being together on the same day.
Lisa Kerner — Just everybody getting together for family. I’m thankful for good health and my kids.
Lauren Richards — Cranberry sauce at my Grandma’s house.
Kevin Kartje — Hudson’s Christmas Display in Downtown Detroit.
Katie Kelly — Thankful for my kids.
Janice Chapman — The year I made the worst gravy. I think it was fun because the kids came in to rescue me and to fix it. Everyone was in the kitchen that year instead of mom by herself.
James Parr — I’d say four generations of nearly 50 family members gathering for a feast in Zilwaukee, Michigan.
Brittany Hocquard — Just eating.
Billie Tracey — I’m thankful for family. I am thankful for my last Thanksgiving with my step-mom before she passed away.
Betsy Schnell — Getting together with big group of transient friends.
