Charlevoix County events beginning Wednesday Dec. 2

DEC. 2
WELLNESS WEDNESDAY
Charlevoix Area Hospital will be hosting the Wellness Wednesday Program from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, in Classroom B of the hospital’s lower level. The Wellness Wednesday Health Screen includes: Total Cholesterol, HDL, ratio, and Glucose levels, Body Mass Index (BMI) score, Muscle and Fat Percentages, and a Blood Pressure reading. No fasting is required. However, if individuals are fasting, LDL and triglyceride levels can also be obtained. Cost for the service is $15. Hemoglobin A1C Levels are offered for known or borderline diabetics for an additional $5. All participants will receive a blood pressure log, pedometer and all test results at the time of the screening. Health consultation and educational materials will be adapted to individual results. CHARLEVOIX PLANNING COMMISSION
The Charlevoix County Planning Commission will hold their next regular meeting on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Room at the Charlevoix County Building, 203 Antrim Street, Charlevoix, MI 49720. The meeting is open to the public, and all who are interested are invited to attend. The tentative agenda is attached.

Holiday Concert
Jordan Valley Community Band Holiday Concert. Sunday December 6th, 3:00 pm at the East Jordan High School. Includes music by Mannheim Steamroller, Tscaikowsky, Sousa and Dvorak. Join in for a Christmas Sing-A-Long followed by refreshments after the concert. Admission is FREE.

Cvx Wind Ensemble
Holiday Concert
Wednesday December 16 7:00 pm at the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix. Directed by Dr. Timothy Topolewski and featuring euphonium solosit Edward Bahr performing Morceau de Concert by Camille Saint-Saens. Other music includes pieces by Gordon Jacob, Karl L. King and Johann Sebastian Bach. Please join the band members after the concert for light refreshments. Admission is FREE.

• Christmas Eve – 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at St. Matthew Church in Boyne City
• Christmas Morning – 9 a.m. at St. Augustine Church in Boyne Falls
Walloon Lake Community
• Christmas Eve Candlelight Service 6 p.m.
All are welcome for the combined Christmas Eve services of East Jordan Community Church and Walloon Lake Community Church. This service will be held at our Walloon Lake Campus. There will be no service on Christmas Day.

• Christmas Eve service on December 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at our Walloon Lake Community Church location.
First Baptist of Boyne
• The Boyne City First Baptist Church will celebrate Christmas with a 7 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 23 service. There will also be 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday Dec. 27 services.
Genesis Church of Boyne
Christmas Eve Service will be Dec. 24 from 5p.m. to 5:30 p.m. by the town Christmas tree.
