Potluck Dinner and Music

At the Charlevoix Senior Center Building
A Community event for all ages!
For December’s gathering, we are holding a Potluck meal from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. The meat, dinnerware and beverages will be provided. You are welcome to bring a side dish or dessert to share. During our meal, musicians are invited to share “in-the-round” (2-3 songs each). We will continue to go around the circle until we decide to turn off the lights. Holiday and other songs are welcome. “Make-your-own”   instrument materials will be available for the young ones.
There will surely be plenty of food to share, so please come and join us even if you do not have time to prepare something! The Charlevoix Senior Center facility is accessible, and is located at the corner of Carpenter and Sheridan streets. More info by calling (231) 622-2944

Humane Society Holiday Party
The Charlevoix Area Humane Society’s holiday open house is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 12. Bring your pets for pictures with Santa, treats and more.

Painters Unite Exhibit
Beginning Saturday Dec. 12, CTAC-Petoskey will showcase the work of 40 painters. Artists from the following groups will be represented:
• Kitchen Painters of Crooked Tree Arts Center – Petoskey
• Charlevoix Circle of Arts
• Jordan River Arts Council in East Jordan
• Boyne Arts Collaborative in Boyne City
“Painters Unite” will be on display until Monday Jan. 4, 2016, in the Bonfield and Gilbert Galleries. The opening reception is from 2–4 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 12.

Wind Ensemble Holiday Concert
Wednesday December 16 7:00 pm at the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix. Directed by Dr. Timothy Topolewski and featuring euphonium solosit Edward Bahr performing Morceau de Concert by Camille Saint-Saens. Other music includes pieces by Gordon Jacob, Karl L. King and Johann Sebastian Bach. Please join the band members after the concert for light refreshments. Admission is FREE.

Charlevoix Area Community Pool New Year’s Celebration is Wednesday, December 30th, 6-8 PM; Celebrate with family and friends. It’s cold outside, but not on the Pool deck! Grab your swimsuits, lounge at the pool, toss around some beach balls, and soak in the hot tub.

THANK-YOU to veterans
The community of Boyne City will be hosting a free social gathering for all veterans from 9 to 11 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month, beginning Jan. 26 at the Boyne Area Senior Center.
Coffee and doughnuts will be donated by supportive area businesses. The senior center will also offer free lunches to all veterans on the fourth Tuesday of the month, starting in January.

• First Presbyterian Church of Boyne City will have a Christmas Eve Service on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.
Boyne Valley Catholic
• Christmas Eve – 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at St. Matthew Church in Boyne City
• Christmas Morning – 9 a.m. at St. Augustine Church in Boyne Falls
Walloon Lake Community
• Christmas Eve Candlelight Service 6 p.m.
All are welcome for the combined Christmas Eve services of East Jordan Community Church and Walloon Lake Community Church. This service will be held at our Walloon Lake Campus. There will be no service on Christmas Day.

• Christmas Eve service on December 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at our Walloon Lake Community Church location.
First Baptist of Boyne
• The Boyne City First Baptist Church will celebrate Christmas with a 7 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 23 service. There will also be 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday Dec. 27 services.
• Genesis Church of Boyne
Christmas Eve Service will be Dec. 24 from 5p.m. to 5:30 p.m. by the town Christmas tree.
