GEMS
• Tristan Rudolph (Charlevoix 2014) captured the No. 2 performance for Aquinas College at the Jayhawk Cross Country Invitational by placing 23rd on the 8,000-meter course with a time of 26:42.25 en route to leading the saints to victory among the field of 16 teams on Oct. 16 in Muskegon.

 

• Kolbi Shumaker (Boyne City 2012) matched a season high by delivering five tackles as a starting defensive back for the Alma College football program (4-3) in a 35-24 victory at Hope College (2-5) on Oct. 24 in Holland.
In the competition, the senior added 19 yards from three punt returns.
On Sept. 5, he posted his first five-tackle effort in a 43-0 sweep of Finlandia University (2-6) in the season opener in Hancock.
For the season on defense, he’s compiled 13 tackles and one pass breakup.
As a returner, he’s added 96 yards from 14 punt returns and 27 yards from two kick returns.

FOOTBALL
• Ben Walton (East Jordan 2014) is a 6-foot, 250-pound defensive lineman for Northwood University, which improved to 4-4 overall after securing 21-14 victory at home against Saginaw Valley State University (1-7) on Oct. 24 in Midland.
• Tanner Catt (Charlevoix 2013) contributed one tackle as a defensive back for Hope College (2-5) in a 35-24 loss at home to Alma College (4-3) on Oct. 24 in Holland.
For the season, he’s totaled four tackles.

• Dustin Hejka (East Jordan 2014) is a 5-9, 150-pound wide receiver for Hope College.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
• Winter Romeyn (Ellsworth 2015) clinched 42nd as an unattached athlete for No. 19 Michigan State University at the Eastern Michigan Fall Classic by completing the 5,000-meter course with a time of 16 minutes, 18.8 seconds on Oct. 23 in Ypsilanti.
The meet was not scored.

• Luke Hawley (East Jordan 2012) is a senior for Aquinas College, which collected a third-place finish among the field of 25 teams at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge Cross Country Invitational on Oct. 24 in Grand Rapids.
The senior track and field standout has yet to compete in a cross country competition this season.
For his career, he has achieved qualification to participate in three NAIA track and field national championship meets.

• Andrew Plude (Charlevoix 2013) is a junior for NCAA Division II No. 22 Saginaw Valley State University, which captured third among the field of 15 teams at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Oct. 24 in Milford.
In his most recent effort, he collected the No. 12 performance for the Cardinals at the Spartan Invitational by finishing 299th on the 8,000-meter course with a time of 30 minutes, 28 seconds on Sept. 18 in East Lansing.
The meet was not scored.

• Nick Plude (Charlevoix 2015) is a freshman for Saginaw Valley State University.

• Gabe Hawley (East Jordan 2015) secured the No. 6 performance for NCAA Division III No. 26 Calvin College at the Jayhawk Cross Country Invitational by finishing 120th on the 8,000-meter course with a time of 30:20.07 on Oct. 26 in Muskegon.
Among the field of 16 teams, the Knights ended fifth.

MEN’S GOLF
• Chandler Novotny (Charlevoix 2013) is a junior for Northwood University, which secured victory among the field of six teams at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Oct. 20 in Beavercreek, Ohio.

MEN’S SOCCER
• Nick Snabes (Charlevoix 2014) is a sophomore forward for Otterbein University, which is 8-5-3 overall after securing a 2-2 tie at Baldwin Wallace University (4-11-3) on Oct. 24 in Berea.

VOLLEYBALL
• Jenna Way (Charlevoix 2013) delivered one ace as a setter for NCAA Division II No. 3 Ferris State University (22-2) in a 3-0 sweep at home of Hillsdale College (15-6) on Oct. 24 in Big Rapids.
For the season, the junior’s compiled 79 assists, 27 digs, nine aces and three kills.

• Erin Baker (Boyne City 2014) has totaled one dig and one assist as a defensive specialist for Concordia University of Ann Arbor, which fell to 16-16 after sustaining a 3-0 loss at NAIA No. 17 Lourdes University (21-0) on Oct. 21 in Sylvania, Ohio.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
• Molly Jeakle (Charlevoix 2012) collected the No. 2 performance for No. 21 Michigan State University in the open race at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational by placing ninth on the 6,000-meter course with a time of 21 minutes, 14.6 seconds on Oct. 15 in Madison.
Among the field of eight teams, the Spartans secured runner-up.
On Oct. 23, MSU competed in its most recent competition by taking part in the Eastern Michigan Fall Classic in Ypsilanti.
The meet was not scored.

• Amber Way (Charlevoix 2015) captured the No. 6 effort for Michigan State University at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational by finishing 162nd on the 6,000-meter course with a time of 21 minutes, 33.8 seconds on Oct. 15 in Madison.
Among the field of 36 teams, the Spartans ended 14th.
