MEN’S GOLF

  • Wyatt Drost (Charlevoix 2011) captured the No. 4 performance for Saginaw Valley State University at the SVSU Spring Invitational by tying for 40th place overall with a two-round score of 160 (82-78) from March 21-22 in Florence, Kentucky.

Among the field of 12 teams, the Cardinals clinched sixth.

  • Chandler Novotny (Charlevoix 2013) collected the No. 7 performance for Northwood University at the TU Battle at the Beach by tying for 64th place overall with a two-round total of 171 (87-84) from March 13-14 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Among the field of 16 teams, the Timberwolves placed eighth.

MEN’S OUTDOOR

TRACK AND FIELD

  • Eric Buday (Charlevoix 2011) is a distance runner for Michigan State University, which will open the season at the Raleigh Relays from March 27-28 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

At the 2014 Big Ten Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, he collected 18th in the 1,500-meter run by finishing with a time of 4 minutes, 3.01 seconds.

For his career, he’s compiled personal-best efforts in the 1,500-meter run and 800-meter run of 4:02.09 and 1:54.67, respectively.

  • Andrew Plude (Charlevoix 2012) is a distance runner for Saginaw Valley State University, which will open the year in a dual meet at Grand Valley State University on March 28 in Allendale.

During 2014 outdoor track and field season, he posted a personal-best effort in the 1,500-meter run of 4:19.45.

  • Tevin Larmond (Boyne City 2012) is a sprinter for Spring Arbor University, which opened at the Coastal Carolina University Invitational from March 13-14 in Conway, South Carolina.

The meet was not scored and Larmond did not compete.

On March 28, the Cougars will resume competition at the Polar Bear Invitational in Marion, Indiana.

  • Luke Hawley (East Jordan 2012) will carry the momentum of being a two-time NAIA All-American into the outdoor track and field season for Aquinas College, which opens at the Polar Bear Invitational on March 28 in Marion, Indiana. In the junior’s most recent competition, he placed eighth with the 4,000-meter distance medley at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championship by finishing with a time of 10:11.54 from March 5-7 in Geneva, Ohio.

For his career, he’s totaled personal bests in the 800-meter run and 1,500-meter run of 1:55.81 and 4:03.65, respectively.

  • Tristan Rudolph (Charlevoix 2014) will also return as a distance runner for Aquinas College after competing in several meets during the indoor track and field season.

During the indoor track and field season, the freshman recorded season-best times in the mile and 3,000-meter run of 4:31.3 and 9:39.75, respectively

In his most recent competition, he placed eighth in the mile at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 4:41.58 on Feb. 21 in Grand Rapids.

  • Nathaniel Veldboom (Ellsworth 2014) is a sprinter for Calvin College, which opened the season at the Birmingham-Southern Invitational from March 13-14 in Birmingham, Alabama.

The meet was not scored and Veldboom did not compete.

During the indoor track and field season, the freshman posted personal-best efforts in the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash of 26.02 seconds and 55.91 seconds, respectively.

On March 28, the Knights will return to action by hosting the Calvin Tri-Meet in Grand Rapids.

SOFTBALL

  • Annie Fila (Harbor Christian 2014) scored one run as a designated hitter for Cornerstone University (12-4) in a 10-8 victory at home against Roosevelt University (5-11) on March 20 in Grand Rapids. For the season, she’s scored four runs.
  • Katherine Hybl (Charlevoix 2013) finished 1-for-3 from the plate as an outfielder for Alma College (9-9) in an 8-0 sweep of Houghton College (0-13) on Feb. 27 in Clermont, Florida. For the season, the sophomore’s totaled three RBIs, two doubles and a .174 batting average.

WOMEN’S GOLF

  • Paige Podskalny (East Jordan 2014) is a member of Northwood University, which placed 10th among the field of 26 teams at the Perry Park Spring Fling on March 22 in Perry Park, Kentucky.

The freshman did not compete.

From March 29-30, the Timberwolves will resume competition at the Ohio Dominican Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD

  • Molly Jeakle (Charlevoix 2012) is a distance runner for Michigan State University, which will open the season at the Raleigh Relays from March 27-28 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

During the 2014 outdoor track and field season, the junior nabbed personal-best efforts in the 800-meter run and 1,500-meter run of 2:18.56 and 4:33.29, respectively.

At the 2014 Big Ten Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, she placed 23rd in the mile with a time of 4:38.11.

  • Kylie Hicks (Boyne City 2014) is a sprinter for Grand Valley State University, which will open the outdoor track and field season at the Raleigh Relays. During the indoor track and field season, the freshman delivered a personal-best effort in the 400-meter dash of 58.75 seconds.
  • Kaleigh Beard (East Jordan 2012) is a thrower for Spring Arbor University, which opened at the Coastal Carolina Invitational from March 13-14 in Conway, South Carolina. The meet was not scored and the junior did not compete.

During the indoor track and field season, she posted personal-best efforts in the weight throw and shot put of 30 feet, 2.25 inches and 27-4.75, respectively.

  • Emily Veenstra (Ellsworth 2012) opened the season by finishing 19th in the discus at the Birmingham-Southern Invitational with a launch of 88-1 for Calvin College from March 13-14 in Birmingham, Alabama. The meet was not scored.
