Dozens of residents and public officials turned out on Saturday Oct. 17 to help remove the arsenic contaminated woodchips from Boyne City’s Veterans Park playground.

The woodchips will be disposed of in a safe manner.

The playground is structure is expected to be coated in a protective sealant which officials hope will stop the seepage of harmful chemicals from the treated lumber into the ground.
