Apply now for open seat on Boyne City Public Schools Board of Education
The recent death of Ed Vondra has left his Boyne City Public Schools Board of Education seat vacant—it must be filled within 30 days of the vacancy.
Boyne City Public Schools Superintendent Peter Moss said the school system is accepting letters of interest until Wednesday Oct. 7.
“The board will call for a special board meeting prior to the regular Oct. 12 meeting to interview interested citizens,” said Moss. “The appointed candidate will serve until the next regular election—November 2016—when interested candidates will be elected to serve the remainder of Ed’s term.”
Letters must be addressed to the board of education and sent to the superintendent’s office at 321 South Park St. in Boyne City. Vondra’s term would have ended on Dec. 31, 2018.
