Boyne City’s $7 million facilities millage narrowly passed by a vote of 498 to 459 on Tuesday May 5.
By levying a 2.7-mill tax increase, the city should be able to bond roughly $7 million over the course of nearly 20 years to pay for a complex that will house the city’s fire, ambulance and police, museum, MSU Extension office and all city hall offices at city hall’s current North Lake Street waterfront location.
“I’m without words,” said Boyne City Mayor Ron Grunch. “I’m so delighted and so happy. Our town deserves this first-class image.”
