MDOT public meeting Feb. 4 on US-31 Project

Public meeting scheduled Feb. 4

for US-31 project in Petoskey

 

WHAT:

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Gaylord Transportation Service Center (TSC) will have a public meeting to review plans for this year’s project on US-31 in Petoskey, including the project schedule and traffic control plans.

BACKGROUND:

MDOT will be resurfacing and reconstructing 1.4 miles of US-31 in Petoskey, from US-131 to Liberty Street. The project also includes median construction, drainage work, and traffic signal upgrades. Work on the Mitchell Street bridge will include railing reconstruction, joint replacement, deck sealing, and concrete restoration.

The project is scheduled to begin on Feb. 17 and be completed in late June. The work will require detouring southbound US-31 traffic on to city streets, and lane closures.
