Two forums scheduled for Charlevoix County 33rd Circuit Judge race

Two forums have been scheduled to feature the five candidates for the Charlevoix County 33rd Circuit Judge’s seat currently held by Richard M. Pajtas, who is set to retire this year.
Candidates Ed Engstrom, Roy C. Hayes III, Mary Beth Kur, Valerie Snyder and Tom Schraw will meet on July 21 and July 29 for moderated question-and-answer sessions.
The first forum begins at 7 p.m. on Monday July 21 at the Boyne Area Senior Center, located at 411 East Division St. in Boyne City.
The event will be moderated by Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jim Baumann.
The second forum begins at 6 p.m., with a half-hour meet and greet with the candidates, on Tuesday July 29 at the Charlevoix Public Library, located at 200 Clinton St. in Charlevoix.
The event will be moderated by Charlevoix Courier Editor Sheri McWhirter-O’Donnell.
Both events are free and open to the public.
The primary election will occur on Tuesday Aug. 5.
