Steven Cronk, 27, of Boyne City, is charged with child abuse in the second degree regarding his daughter who was three months old at the time of the alleged incident.
The criminal complaint alleges that on July 12, 2013, Cronk caused serious physical harm to his daughter by shaking her and/or leaving her unattended so that she could be and was injured by another.
The crime was investigated by the Boyne City Police Department and the Michigan State Police.
Second degree child abuse is a felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.
The case is currently pending in the 90th District Court in Charlevoix where a pretrial was planned to be conducted on Sept. 24 with a preliminary examination on Oct.
Cronk was arraigned on Sept. 12 and was released on a personal recognizance bond.
His court appointed attorney is Kraag Lieberman of Charlevoix.
