Emily Lynn Root

Emily Lynn Root, age 7 of Boyne City went to the Lord on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Emily was born on March 22, 2004 in Charlevoix the daughter of Willis Root, Sr. and Theresa Looze. Emily loved animals and spending time outside. Emily was a second grader at Boyne City Elementary School.

Emily is survived by her mother Theresa Looze; father Willis Root, Sr.; sisters Heather Skop and Andrea Skop; brothers Corey (Ashley) Root and Willis “Billy” (Jessica) Root, Jr.; grandmothers Shirley Looze and Margaret Root; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Emily had a sweet nature and could melt any heart with her tender smile, she will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched.

Visitation will be held 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Augustine Church in Boyne Falls with a vigil service being held at 7:00 pm

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Church with Fr. Duane Wachowiak serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on Skop Road in Boyne Falls.
